Emmy-Lou’s Beaker
Emmy-Lou Andrews chose this beaker as her object. From MODES she was able to discover that it was found in Brough, which is about 5 miles north of Newark. Approximately 70% of the rim and 10% of body has been reconstructed. There is a patterned band around the middle of the body of the beaker. A beaker is a drinking vessel without a handle. Beakers such as this would have been used for drinking water, beer or wine. Emmylou chose this object because she likes the shape and the design on the beaker. She thinks it looks similar to pots and beakers we use today. She thinks it might have been used in the kitchen and another reason that she chose it is that she loves cooking.
