Charlotte’s BM visit report and art work
On 23rd February 2010 8 students & 3 staff from Orchard School plus 3 museum service staff visited the British Museum. The following is Charlotte’s memories of the visit:
We went to Newark Station to catch the train. I sat with Jamie, Jess, Daniel and Moyra. We walked to the British Museum and got there at 12.00. We saw the big building and the stairs, met Maria then took our bags to the room. We looked around the museum and I saw a mummy. We had lunch then split up into two groups. I liked the things from the Roman galleries. We saw the coins and held the silver plate. It was nice! We walked back to the station and I had a drink of hot chocolate. Then I went on the train to go back to Newark Station.
As well as the mosaic and Roman pot making workshops in which the students participated, most of the students have produced a drawing of their chosen object. This is Charlotte’s drawing of the face pot:
