BMuse-British Museum Youth Panel
Since November 2009 the British Museum has had a Youth Panel (BMuse) that provides an opportunity for young people to meet up weekly to plan events and to shape the museum’s future projects. The panel aims to provide further museum experience and training opportunities for young people and is a forum for staff from across the museum to consult with group members and to gain a better understanding of the needs and interests of youth audiences.
It is hoped that with the expansion of the Talking Objects project, BMuse will have opportunities to work with similar youth-led initiatives at partner museums across the UK.
